Hi everyone! One of my favorite things about being an author is meeting the readers and other authors! So, I've decided to bring my readers and some of the authors I meet together. Every once in a while I will be introducing you guys to a new YA author by featuring them on my blog. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Laura A. H. Elliott, writer of YA and Middle Grade Fiction. Here is a little about Laura and her YA novel, Winnemucca. Winnemu cca One mistake changes her life forever. One answer will set her free. Once upon a time Ginny’s road blood ripened, the day she got wise to love. Engaged to the high school quarterback, his quarter-carat ring and enchanting smile should have been enough for her. But, she stands him up and takes a walk where every step questions her happily ever after gone-bad and the fate of the mother she never knew. The mother her father refuses to talk about. Ginny fights to untangle her big, fat, lie-of-a-life on an enchanted road trip to ...

YA Saves

If you were on Twitter this Saturday, you likely read the AMAZING tweets tagged #YAsaves. It all started with a Wall Street Journal article (not even sure if I should call it an article…those usually require research). If you missed it, you can read it here . I’m not wasting time or words on what was said. Instead, I will tell you about the outcome, which consisted of actual YA readers coming together once again to stick up for the books they love, sharing stories about how YA changed and saved their lives. Made me proud to be an author. I was one of the many people directly impacted by YA. YA gave me the courage and motivation to write YA, to move forward with the publishing process, and to be where I'm today. It is because of YA that I now do what I love, and in the process, I made some amazing friends and continue to meet amazing people everyday! You cannot deny that because of YA books, dark or not, more teens have been reading. Okay, I will just sa...
