Imprinted Souls - The Missing Journals - Tyler: Lexi's Choice - Part I
Hi everyone,
Lexi’s Choice – Tyler’s POV – Part I
***
Part 2 is coming soon… Come back to see
Tyler’s reaction after he sees Nicholas and Lexi 'together' for the first time.
Sorry it took so long to post this. I've been working on Sins of the Fallen during my official writing times. I do miss the imprinted souls characters terribly and I'm so glad I get to write these bonus chapters. I hope you are enjoying them!
Here is my writing song for this one:
Lexi’s Choice – Tyler’s POV – Part I
I was at Travis’ house for what felt like
an eternity. I just sat there,
staring at the box that I had given Lexi, as I waited for her text. I wasn’t sure what she was up to, but
our deal was that if this plan of hers didn’t work, I would be going after
Loren.
Her text never came.
Travis felt the tension in the room and claimed
that he had errands to run. Eventually,
Adrianne came back to pick me up so that we could go after Loren. I hesitated in leaving before I heard
from Lexi, but I knew that the sooner we were done with Loren, the sooner we
would be free of his games.
Adrianne was so impatient about getting
this done that we didn’t even wait for Travis to return.
As Adrianne drove, I tried to re-think
our plan to destroy Loren but I felt as if my thoughts were all over the place.
Nicholas was now out of the picture. I just wished I had destroyed him with
my own hands. Of course I knew
what had happened between him and Lexi.
I could tell by her scent all over him. There was nothing I could do about that… not after I was
foolish enough to listen to Adrianne, well, to what Loren forced Adrianne to
tell me. She truly made me believe
that I was Lexi’s rebound guy and nothing more. I still can’t believe I fell for that. Lexi was right. I should have known the truth about how
she felt toward me. If anything, I
should have known that because of the imprint that we once had.
I meant what I had said to Lexi. With Loren gone, I wanted to start
fresh. I wanted to take her away
from all of the drama; I wanted to take her away from everything and everyone.
The plan was to destroy him and then,
find Lexi and take her away from all of this. Adrianne was actually the one to come up with most of our
plans. She even said that Nicholas
was more of a practice run. We
both knew that getting to Loren would be much more difficult. I still couldn’t believe that she
actually went through with our plan to destroy Nicholas. Throwing those specks of silver at him
like she did… it was genius. I just hoped it would work on Loren as well.
I knew that I couldn’t go up against Loren
alone, after all, he was my maker, but Adrianne could. The only problem would
be the possibility of Adrianne backing out in the last minute. I knew she owed him a lot by saving her
centuries ago and Adrianne was loyal.
I actually questioned myself over and over about whether I should trust
her. Not that it mattered… I had no other options.
We were almost back to Loren’s house when
I got the call. The worst call I
would probably ever get.
“Hello.”
“Hi Tyler. This is Travis.”
I gave a puzzled look directed at
Adrianne. Of course, she could
hear him too.
“Hi Travis. We are a little busy right now. Can I call you back?”
“I—hmm—I need to talk to you. Now.”
Adrianne met my gaze. “Give me the phone,” she said.
“Travis. Are you okay?”
“Well, yeah.”
“We will have to call you back then.”
“Adrianne! You need to bring Tyler over here. It’s about Lexi and it is urgent.”
I didn’t even hesitate. Loren was already forgotten. I could no longer feel Lexi through the
imprint, but I just had this gut feeling that something was wrong.
“Go back to his house,” I ordered Adrianne.
She sped all the way there.
I barged into Travis’ house. He was sitting on the couch and looked
distant.
“What is wrong?” I asked.
“You may want to sit down for this.”
I did, just because I had no time to
argue.
“Lexi called me.” He paused. “She asked me to give you a message.”
I knew I wasn’t going to like this.
“She left town not long ago. She said she doesn’t want you going
after her.”
“Has she lost her mind? She can’t just wander around…
unprotected…”
Travis looked away as if he was
uncomfortable.
“She’s not alone. Nicholas is taking her away.”
“Son of a –“
Travis interrupted me, “It was her idea, not his. She said that she asked Nicholas to
take her away.”
“But he is dead!” said Adrianne. “I mean… really dead. How long ago did she call you?”
“Not long before I called you. And she asked me to tell you that what
you did to Nicholas is unforgivable.”
“She saved him,” I said, “somehow, she
managed to save him.”
No one said anything after that.
I started to walk away.
“Where are you going?” asked Adrianne.
“I don’t know, but I do know that our
plan is off. I can’t track her
anymore. Loren has the resources
to find where they are, and once he does, I can make sure he doesn’t get too
close, and that Lexi is safe. I
just… I don’t trust Nicholas.”
“You can’t just stand by and watch them,
Tyler.”
“I can. What happened between us was a mistake, Adrianne. I was weak, and I guess I’ll pay for my
mistake for eternity.”
“Tyler, nothing happened between us.”
“But—“?
“I couldn’t say no to Loren when he
ordered me to do it, but I found a way around it. I glamoured you into believing that we were together. I just knew that you wouldn’t be able to
lie to Loren about it otherwise.”
I shook my head.
“I have to find a way to tell her the truth.”
“Tyler,” said Travis. “Even if you find her right away, wait
until the right time to tell her the truth. Just give her some time away from drama. Either way, it probably wouldn’t hurt
to let Loren believe that it is over between you and Lexi. That will get his attention off you. “
“He’ll know how I feel.”
“Travis is right,” said Adrianne. “And yes, Loren will know how you feel
to an extent, but he won’t know how Lexi feels and he will think that she has given
up on you.”
“Because she has…” I said.
“She just has too much going on. Give her time. Give YOURSELF some time. We will use this situation to help get
information from Loren. I’ll help
you,” said Adrianne.
“What is something happens to her?”
Adrianne sighed. “She’ll be okay, Tyler.”
“You don’t know that.”
“She is stronger than you give her credit
for, Tyler.”
“I’ll be in contact with her,” said
Travis. “She already made it clear
that she won’t tell me where they are going. I’m also not allowed to tell you about anything that we talk
about, but that she will call, and if I know that something is wrong, you’ll be
the first to know.”
I finally agreed… not like I had a
choice.
I did try to call Lexi, text her… I even
resorted to calling Nicholas several times throughout the following weeks. There was never an answer.
